Nassau County police have identified the three victims of Sunday's fatal crash in Bethpage.

As News 12 has reported, three people were killed when a vehicle driving eastbound on Stymus Avenue struck a tree and caught fire.

The victims in the crash, who are all 20 years old, have been identified as Gino Vicale, of Seaford, Nicholas Rivera, of Glendale and Vincent Cavaliere, of Bethpage.

Chris Antonacci, of Bethpage, lives not far from the tragic crash. He says it’s the worst crash he’s seen in his neighborhood.

"In 17 years, this is just crazy,” he said. "It's heartbreaking. It's probably a parent's worst nightmare."

A memorial for the victims continues to grow, sprouting messages of love, from a stone saying "Gino, we love you," to a carving on a tree saying "Brothers for life."

Friends of the victims tell News 12 off camera the trio were three great guys who lived life more than anybody.

Bryan Jones, of Bethpage, says he’s lived near the Cavaliere family for decades and says the loss of their son Vincent is being felt in the community.

"I've been here almost 30 years, and I don't have a bad word to say about them," he said. "What a nice family. I mean they're very caring parents. I can't even imagine what they're going through."

Vincent Cavaliere was a football player at Assumption University in Massachusetts.

The university put out a statement on his passing saying in part, “Vincent was a student athlete who exemplified the best in Assumption students and had his heart set on achieving excellence. One of his faculty members noted that “I just last week was telling him how it was a pleasure to get to know him.” Vincent’s friends, faculty, football teammates, classmates—indeed, all of us—had that pleasure. It was a gift to us to be part of his life.”

Anna Marino, of Bethpage, lives down the block from the crash and is a mother of two children in their 20s.

"I wouldn't even know what to say to a mom, on Mother's Day, that she has to deal with this ordeal,” she said. “And it's three children, three 20-year-olds. Their lives were just beginning."

Nassau police haven’t said exactly what caused the crash.

A fundraiser has been set up benefiting the families here.
