The Nassau County Department of Health is warning of potential hepatitis A exposure for patrons at an Oceanside Jersey Mike’s Subs.

Health officials announced Friday a confirmed case of hepatitis A virus in a food handler who worked at the restaurant located at 24 Atlantic Ave. They say those who consumed foods and drinks prepared on-site, or used the restrooms between April 5 and April 19 may have been exposed to the virus.

The risk of transmission is considered low, but health officials are still advising residents who may have been exposed to speak to their health care provider out of an abundance of caution.

A call center has been established for those requiring additional information. The number is 516-227-9651 and it will be in operation this weekend at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
