World Drowning Prevention Day: Experts stress safety following child’s pool death in Central Islip

A police investigation is underway after a man was found dead in the woods in Riverhead.

Police say the 59-year-old was found unconscious and unresponsive in a tent encampment on Monday morning north of East Main Street.

Police say his death does not appear to be suspicious.

The victim’s name is currently being withheld.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
