A Roosevelt man was charged with murder for allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend over 30 times in front of their 2-year-old child.

Prosecutors say Jose William Funes-Zabala found out that Brenda Guadoloupe Alfaro Alcantara was seeing someone else.

They say the attack happened the day after an order of protection she had against him expired.

Funes-Zabala has pleaded not guilty.
