Bay Shore played host to a battle to prove who’s the best at cracking open clams.

The 30th annual Clam Shucking Fundraiser Tuesday benefited the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition.

Survivors say the coalition and events like this are a lifeline.

“You literally are putting your life in the hands of total strangers and having to trust people — we like to call it the club — no one wants to join, but it’s not so bad when you have all that support around you,” says Joann Gorsky, of West Babylon.

The coalition hopes to raise $67,000, as it tries to beat last year’s total of $65,000.
