Some Sayville residents aren’t happy that their neighbors are running a bed and breakfast out of their Greene Avenue home.

No one disputes that the B&B is being operated, but neighbors say it’s illegal - while the owners disagree.

The bed and breakfast is called Come as You Are Inn and is being run out of a residential property.

The Town of Islip told News 12 Monday afternoon shortly before our story aired that it is not legal and that “there is an active investigation with the Town of Islip Code Enforcement.”

The inn’s operators say that this isn’t about the inn; it’s about bigotry, claiming that there’s been nothing but trouble ever since they hung their Pride flag out front.

Neighbors say this has nothing to do with bigotry and say it’s a quality-of-life issue.

They say “transient people” are coming and going from the house at all hours.
