Michael DeAngelo, of Lindenhurst, will spend the next 7 to 21 years behind bars for driving high and causing a crash that killed four family members.

Prosecutors say the 33-year-old was driving 120 mph on Sunrise Highway in East Massapequa, high on cocaine and fentanyl last August when he rear-ended another vehicle.

The crash killed 60-year-old Patrice Huntley, his 10-year-old son Jeremiah Huntley, his 13-year-old daughter Hannah Huntley and his 6-year-old stepgranddaughter Chantel Solomon.

DeAngelo never turned to face the victims’ families in court. He gave a statement expressing remorse, saying he would give his life to bring back those who were killed.

Relatives of the victims called his statement “empty words.”
