Police: Freeport man accused of driving drunk in Roosevelt with 3-year-old son inside car

Authorities say 32-year-old Abidan Sorto-Benitez was driving a Honda Civic just before 10 p.m. when he struck a curb.

A Freeport man is facing multiple charges after police say he drove drunk Saturday in Roosevelt with his 3-year-old son inside of the car.

Authorities say 32-year-old Abidan Sorto-Benitez was driving a Honda Civic just before 10 p.m. when he struck a curb.

Officers who arrived at the scene observed that he had glassy eyes and smelled of alcohol.

No one was injured during the incident, according to police. The charges against Sorto-Benitez include aggravated DWI and endangering the welfare of a child.

He is expected to be arraigned Sunday in Hempstead.
