NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller’s widow Stephanie says she has received overwhelming generosity and support from the community since her husband was killed in the line of duty, and she wants to pay it forward.

Diller describes her late husband as the most giving and selfless person she has ever met. In his honor, she got to choose the foundation that Toys for Tots will donate thousands of toys to - in his name.

The 5,000 toys will be donated to students at schools across Long Island.

The donation went to the Promise of Hope Foundation, something Diller requested because they had covered the cost of her husband’s funeral. They will then distribute the toys to children in need.

The young mother has made it her mission to show her son how much good there is in the world and hopes one day he too will emulate his hero dad.

“Some days are good, and some days are really hard, but when I have days like this where I get to remember him in happy ways, that’s what helps me get through," says Diller.
