Storms bring heavy rain across parts of Long Island

Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Sam Augeri says to expect clouds with on and off showers Wednesday through Thursday.

WHAT TO KNOW:

• The rainfall forecast for Wednesday and Thursday continues to change by the hour as multiple storms to our west are taking shape.

• Wednesday is now trending a little bit wetter, with the chance for more of a steady rain in the afternoon followed by scattered showers Thursday.

FORECAST:

OVERNIGHT: Cloudy and mild with the chance for showers. Lows near 55 with south winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunrise: 5:35.

WEDNESDAY: Cloudy with showers likely, especially in the afternoon. Highs near 64 with southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Sunset: 8:03 p.m. Cloudy with showers likely at night. Breezy at times with east winds 10 to 15 mph. Lows near 55 degrees.

THURSDAY: Cloudy with a good chance for scattered showers. Highs near 63. Lows near 54.

FRIDAY: Partly sunny and nice Highs near 68. Lows near 53.

SATURDAY: Partly sunny with highs near 64. Increasing clouds with the chance of late day showers. Highs near 64. Cloudy with a good chance of showers at night. Lows near 52.
