Millions of low-income U.S. households could lose free internet service from the government next month.

The Affordable Connectivity Program has been providing up to $75 off monthly internet bills.

Now the money is running out to fund the $42.5 billion program.

The funds are set to run out at the end of April and lawmakers have not passed a program extension.

Internet providers will have the option to offer partial discounts using the money that is left.

Those who aren't already enrolled won't be able to apply because the program is not accepting new applications.

A 2022 study from the American Immigration Council found that one in 13 New Yorkers don't have Internet access.

About 75,000 people do not have home internet, according to the Westchester County Association.

About 45,000 Westchester residents do not own a computer, according to officials.
