Lifeguarding applications now open for Westchester and Rockland parks

Applicants must pass the Westchester County Practical Skills Test and should have either an American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid Certification or a CPR/AED for Lifeguards Certification.

Lifeguarding applications are officially open for Westchester County parks and Rockland County town parks.

In Westchester, Parks Commissioner Kathy O'Connor says you must be 15 or older to apply. Applicants must pass the Westchester County Practical Skills Test and should have either an American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid Certification or a CPR/AED for Lifeguards Certification.

In Rockland, applicants must also complete an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification course. Age requirements, applications and tests vary by town.
