Official: 6 cars damaged by fire in Oceanside

Six cars went up in flames at the Sands Shopping Center on Long Beach Road in Oceanside. Four of the cars were completely destroyed. The other two were damaged.
The flames broke out at around 4:30 Monday afternoon.
Eileen Benowitz’s Acura SUV was badly damaged.
Benowitz said, “I saw the car next to mine was on fire and all the other ones. My car is probably gone.”
Around 50 firefighters from three departments responded. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
