Long Islanders hope for lots of luck with $810 million Powerball jackpot

Monday's Powerball jackpot was $810 million and Long Islanders told News 12 that even though they knew their chances of winning were low, they were still willing to play the odds.
"You've got to play to win." said one man in Plainview about the Powerball jackpot that's been growing for more than two months without a grand prize winner.
According to the Powerball website, the odds of matching all the numbers are 1 in 292,201,338.
Those very long odds did stop some Long Islanders from buying a ticket and dreaming big.
"I would buy a yacht," said one woman, who also told News 12 she and her husband would retire if they have the winning ticket.
