A vote to expel George Santos from the House of Representatives passed Friday morning.

Republicans now hold a 222-213 majority in the house.

New York law now requires Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul to call a special election for his seat.

The governor has 10 days from the day Santos leaves office to issue a proclamation calling for an election.

That election would have to take place between 70 days and 80 days from her proclamation.
