Detectives say a man struck a large menorah with an unknown object Wednesday in West Hempstead, destroying two lights and causing around $2,000 in damages.

The incident happened on the front lawn of a residence on Nassau Boulevard.

The suspect then fled on foot on Nassau Boulevard in an unknown direction.
