The Town of Huntington is sending an early salute to war heroes ahead of Veterans Day with its Field of Honor.

The front lawn of Town Hall is completely covered with American flags for the tribute. Each flag has its own custom-printed gold ribbon personalized and dedicated to each honoree.

A new plaque was also unveiled on Sunday that honored World War II veterans.

The display will be taken down next month, but residents can buy a flag for $35 to support the cause.
