A house fire in West Islip on Saturday morning killed two brothers and left their parents hospitalized, Suffolk police say.

Authorities say more than a half dozen fire departments and EMS personnel responded to the scene at 136 Udall Road just before 6 a.m.

Fire officials say Matthew Kreamer, 24, and Kyle Dilegame, 16, were located deceased inside the residence. They were both trapped on the second floor.

Officials say their parents, Joseph Dilegame, 54, and Toni Kreamer, 53, managed to escape and told firefighters that their boys were still inside.

Both the parents suffered burns and smoke inhalation. They were transported by the West Islip Fire Department to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip.

Joseph Dilegame was subsequently transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

Residents in the area say the house fire was a frightening scene.

“There was somebody on the front lawn crying, a woman lying on the front lawn and someone banging on the front door screaming,” said a neighbor.

West Islip Public Schools confirmed to News 12 that Matthew Kreamer was a former student, and that Kyle Dilegame attended the high school. The 16-year-old was also a member of the football team.

Grief counselors will be available Sunday evening at the West Islip High School library from 6 p.m. through 7:30 p.m.

A memorial of flowers was set up outside of the home on Saturday afternoon.

Officials say there was no criminality involved.

The Arson Squad is currently investigating the incident. They say they investigate all fatal fires.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

A GoFundMe has been set up for the family.
