The remains found earlier this week at Sunken Meadow State Park have been identified as a 20-year-old man from Brentwood.

State police say they are investigating Yoneli Abimael Ramos Moreno’s death as a homicide.

Suffolk police are offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.

Investigators believe Ramos-Moreno died recently but have not specified how.

Police say he was from Honduras and lived with a relative in Brentwood.

As News 12 has reported, his remains were found by someone walking in the park on Monday.

Police are reassuring residents about the park’s safety, saying there is still a police presence there.

“We are fully investigating this, and we’re fully invested in doing that,” said Capt. Christopher Casale, of the NYSP Troop L Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
