Providers nationwide are struggling to get the latest COVID-19 shots amid supply issues, including in the Hudson Valley.

Middletown's Neighborhood RX and Pound Ridge Pharmacy are among several that said they've been waiting for at least a month.

The rocky rollout is in part due to the federal government no longer funding the COVID-19 shot. Instead, providers are now buying the vaccines from distributors or directly from manufacturers.

Anthony Ciarletta, vice president and owner of Grassy Sprain Pharmacy said he's hopeful to get shots in arms in the next week, despite several hold ups.

"I don't think there's any reason for people to panic. To think that it's something that they can't get, I think they should just be patient for a few more days and pharmacies will get their shipments and we'll start putting them in people's arms as fast as possible," he said.

The Westchester County Health Department is offering free shots for eligible children and uninsured adults.
