News 12 Storm Watch Meteorologist Addison Green says Wednesday will be sunny and dry before rain returns for the weekend.

WHAT'S NOW: Breezy winds will slowly back down through the evening hours tonight and into tomorrow morning.

WHAT'S NEW: The weekend is not looking so great. A storm system is forecast to move up the coast from the offshore Southeast waters. It will bring rain, wind and rough surf to Long Island for Saturday with another one to follow for Sunday. It is too far out to talk about exact timing, amounts and local impacts, but in general, expect the weekend to look dismal.

WHAT'S NEXT: Before wacky weather arrives for the weekend, embrace this glorious stretch of weather through the rest of the work week! This includes the *Pick of the Week* arriving Wednesday. Low levels of humidity, lots of fair skies, with a light breeze will be around through much of the work week except for Friday. That is where the cloud cover will slowly thicken up through the day as that system mentioned earlier slides up the coast.

OVERNIGHT: Clear skies, cool temps, breezy winds at times. Lows: mid 50s to low 60s.

WEDNESDAY: *Pick of the week* - Sunny, seasonal temps, light breeze, low humidity. Highs: low to mid 70s. Lows: mid 50s to low 60s.

THURSDAY: Sunny skies, with some high level clouds, light breeze and staying comfy. Highs: low 70s. Lows: mid to upper 50s.

FRIDAY: Mostly sunny to increasing cloud cover through the day. Highs: upper 60s to low 70s. Lows: upper 50s to low 60s.

SATURDAY: WEATHER TO WATCH – Fall begins (begins at 2:50 AM) – Batches of rain, heavy at times, with windy & raw conditions. Highs: mid to upper 60s. Lows: upper 50s to low 60s.
