This morning, two Long Island lawyers are being accused of paying themselves more than $1 million from a dead client’s trust and charity.
According to the state attorney general, Paul Marchese gave his law firm $600,000 without reporting it to the New York Attorney General’s Office.
News 12 has been told Marchese and Robin Maynard then took another $750,000 from the client’s charity.
As part of the settlement, the two will have to pay back $510,000.
Marchese and Maynard are also banned from heading nonprofits or charities for three years unless the attorney general gives approval.
