Police say a man has been arrested for scamming a Carle Place employee out of nearly $100,000.

Detectives say the Carle Place law firm employee received an email from someone he believed was his employer last August.

According to police, the e-mail told him to wire $95,000 from the firm's HSBC account.

After the transaction, he found out the request was fraud.

An arrest warrant was put out for Dana Sarantakis, of Massachusetts. Sarantakis turned himself into Nassau police on Wednesday.

Sarantakis is charged with second degree grand larceny.
