ALERTS: Severe Thunderstorm Watch is up for Nassau & Suffolk Counties until 8 p.m., at the latest.
Heat Advisory is up for all of Nassau & most of Suffolk (except the South Fork) from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday.
WHAT'S NEW: There is still a risk of gusty winds and heavy rain as the line of storms moves eastward across the island.
WHAT'S NEXT: The heat will be cranked up for the end of the work week, and into Saturday. A heat advisory is already up for Thursday and may be extended into Friday.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Long Island until 8 p.m.
