A bouncer convicted of beating a man to death at a Holbrook bar is set to be sentenced on Friday.

David Cruz, of Medford, is facing up to 25 years in prison for killing Jake Scott outside of Tailgaters in August 2022.

A jury found Cruz guilty of manslaughter in April. He was also named in a wrongful death lawsuit filed Thursday by Scott's family.

Prosecutors say Cruz covered cameras before punching Scott and knocking him unconscious. They say a fight led up to the attack.

Scott died days later.
