Police: Pedestrian fatally struck on Merrick Road in Massapequa

Police say a pedestrian was fatally struck by a car in Massapequa on Thursday night.

According to detectives, while attempting to cross Merrick Road from the north side to the south side in the vicinity of Carman Mill Road, a male pedestrian was struck by a 2015 BMW traveling eastbound on Merrick Road.

The male, 42, suffered head and body trauma. He was pronounced at the scene.

The male driver, 19, remained at the scene.
