Nassau police: Call for disturbance at Roslyn Heights home deemed ‘unfounded’
The whole ordeal lasted over two hours, with police and ambulance crews leaving at around 1:30 p.m.
A call reporting a disturbance at home in Roslyn Heights Sunday morning was deemed unfounded by Nassau police.
Authorities say police were called to 183 Peachtree Lane at around 11:30 a.m. Neighbors caught the scene on video as police cars and ambulance crews blocked off Peachtree Lane and nearby streets.
One video showed officers wearing full body gear positioned around the house.
Neighbors said they were frightened as police told them to remain in their homes.
"I saw a few police officers with a riot shield and big guns knocking on the house. They were making announcements to get out the house. No one went outside,” said resident Arash Lahijani.
"It became obvious that something not good was happening. The police officers weren't speaking to anybody they just said stay in your house,” said Linda D'Angelo.
The whole ordeal lasted over two hours, with police and ambulance crews leaving at around 1:30 p.m.
Authorities have released few details about the situation. The identities and number of people inside the home at the time have yet to be confirmed. However, police say the call was deemed unfounded and no one was hurt.
