More than 25 people homeless after fire destroys their homes in Peekskill

The Red Cross has been able to get in contact with and provide assistance to a majority of the residents that once lived in Building No. 3 at the Hillcrest Park Condominium Complex in Peekskill.

More than 25people are homeless after a fire tore through their Peekskill condominium complex overnight.
The Red Cross has been able to get in contact with and provide assistance to a majority of the residents that once lived in Building No. 3 at the Hillcrest Park Condominium Complex in Peekskill.
The fire broke out just before 2 a.m. 
Peekskill firefighters arrived and helped pull one person from the second floor.
Peekskill Fire Department Chief Jim Seymour says the person was transported to Westchester Medical Center with some burns.
There is no word on the extent of their condition, but everyone else was able to get out safely.
The building has been demolished. 
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, fire officials say no accelerant has been detected. They were able to determine that the fire began somewhere on the second-floor unit.
