Officials say two Rocky Point High School athletes have been diagnosed with MRSA.
The district announced the news to parents on Monday.
The district superintendent says the cases appear to be isolated to players on one sports team who regularly practice together.
The district says the school will undergo supplemental and extensive disinfecting measures in addition to its normal cleaning.
MRSA is a bacterial infection that cannot be treated with antibiotics.
