Two parents were arrested for fighting with teenagers after a brawl broke out at a high school flag football game.
The incident took place when a fight erupted between players from Southampton High School and Wyandanch Memorial High School during their game Thursday night. During the altercation, Jonathan Perez, 35, and Shalaya Gatlin, 37, both of Shirley, each had a physical altercation with teenagers, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
Police said Perez fought with a 16-year-old boy, threatened people with a knife and threatened to shoot up the school.
Police also said Gatlin punched a 16-year-old girl in the chest, punched another 16-year-old girl in the face and threatened a 15-year-old girl.
The three 16-year-olds were treated for minor injuries.
Perez is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, making a threat of mass harm, menacing, harassment and acting in a manner to injure a child.
Gatlin is charged with three counts of harassment and three counts of acting in a manner to injure a child.
Perez and Gatlin will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
