Undercover officers swarmed a home in Saddle Rock village Tuesday night after receiving a call about a suspicious incident.
The home is located on Melville Lane and Longfellow Road.
Police arrested Bryan Alexis Farias Luna, 28, and Isaias Antonio Lienlaf Donoso, 35, in connection with a five-week investigation into a string of house burglaries and car thefts in the area.
Village Mayor Dan Levy says his home was burglarized weeks ago. He says he was shocked when cash, gold coins and priceless mementos that once belonged to his late father were taken.
Police say Luna and Donoso are part of a ring. News 12 is told members of the ring come from Chile to the U.S. on a 90-day Visa and target homes in wealthy areas.
Luna and Donoso are charged with second-degree burglary.
Mayor Levy says he wants to see the men prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
