Two accidents claimed two lives just hours apart in Suffolk County.

The first happened in North Lindenhurst Friday night. Karim Abouelfadl was killed after police say his Honda Civic crossed into oncoming traffic on Wellwood Avenue and hit a Ford Fusion head-on.

He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The other driver is expected to be OK.

A few hours later, Suffolk police say Samir Patel was killed at the intersection of Nicolls Road and Middle Country Road in Centereach. Patel's vehicle was in the wrong lane and was hit by a van as he tried to turn around.

The driver who hit him survived.
