Two bodies washed ashore in Shoreham Sunday morning, and officials say they are awaiting positive identification to determine if they are the remains of two men who were swept away while fishing.
As News 12 has reported, three people were fishing at Wading River Creek Saturday afternoon when they slipped into the water.
One man was able to get back to land safely and call for help. The other two were swept away.
Coast Guard officials called off the search for the missing men after the bodies were found. They say the bodies matched the descriptions of the missing men.
The identities of the missing men were not immediately released.
