Police say two ATM skimming devices were found at a TD Bank in Plainview.
On March 9, police say an ATM repairman noticed a skimmer installed on a money machine at the Old Country Road branch. The second device was found on the card swipe at the bank door.
Investigators say a number of accounts have been compromised.
Two days ago, LIRR personnel found a skimming device attached to a ticket machine at the Baldwin train station. Police say surveillance video shows that 35-year-old Vasile Hadau placed the device at the train station, but at this point he is still on the loose.
Police advise residents to check for objects that don't appear to be a part of any machine they swipe cards at. They also say to cover your hand as you type your PIN, check your account balance often and immediately report suspicious activity to your bank and police.
