The family of a woman killed 36 years ago still hopes for justice.
Eve Wilkowitz's body was found blocks away from the Bay Shore train station on March 25, 1980.
Wilkowitz, 20 at the time, commuted to and from Manhattan, where she worked as a secretary for a publishing house. She routinely made a 10-minute walk from the station to her Bay Shore apartment at night. Police believe she was abducted while walking home.
Wilkowitz had told her family that she thought someone was following her a week before her murder.
Detectives interviewed multiple suspects, but never made an arrest. Published reports at the time suggested that Wilkowitz was most likely held captive for three days and sexually abused.
Wilkowitz's sister Irene Brociner says she thinks of her sister often. She also still thinks of her sister's killer and dreams of justice for her sister and closure for herself.
When asked what she would say to the killer, Irene spoke of the damage done.
"You just changed our lives forever, what could have been a normal life is gone," was Irene's message to the killer.
