A young woman is dead after being pulled from a pool at a house party in Glen Cove, police say.

Police responded to a call for a possible drowning early this morning on Valley Road. Authorities say that before officers arrived, an 18-year-old woman from Brooklyn was pulled out of the deep end of the pool by guests who administered CPR.

EMS personnel further attempted to revive the woman, but were unsuccessful. The young woman, whose name is being withheld, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the victim was a guest at a Fourth of July party at the home, and that 90 people were at the house when the drowning occurred. Officials say they are still unsure of how she drowned or how long she was underwater before someone noticed.
