An 18-year-old Bridgeport man was seriously injured Tuesday around 4:19 p.m. after a collision between a motorized scooter and a vehicle at the intersection of North Avenue and Thompson Street, according to Bridgeport police.

Police say he was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital and was listed in stable condition.

The driver of a gray Honda CR-V was a 33-year-old Stratford woman. She remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to police. She was not injured.

A preliminary investigation by the Bridgeport Police Accident Reconstruction Team found that the Honda CR-V was traveling north on Thompson Street and had stopped at the stop sign before attempting a left turn onto North Avenue. The vehicle was then struck by the scooter, which was traveling east on North Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Tien Ngo at 203-576-7640 or tien.ngo@bridgeportct.gov.
