Detectives say they responded to a disturbance just before 4 p.m. Tuesday at Mercy First on Convent Road.
News 12 has been told a 17-year-old boy left the social service location and officers found him down the block.
Police say the teen became violent during the investigation.
One officer suffered a hand injury and was taken to the hospital.
The teen is due in court.
