17-year-old charged with robbery, weapon possession in New Rochelle

According to police, the woman reported that the teenage boy approached her, pointed a gun at her, and demanded her belongings.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon after allegedly attempting to rob a 66-year-old woman at gunpoint.
The incident occurred on Oct. 9 around 7 p.m. in the 100 block of Franklin Avenue.
According to police, the woman reported that the teenage boy approached her, pointed a gun at her, and demanded her belongings. She began screaming, causing the boy to flee into the nearby Harbor House property.
The woman was not injured.
Police searched the area but were unable to locate the boy until Oct. 17, when he was finally apprehended.
