Police say a 15-year-old boy was shot and killed in Hempstead early Monday morning.
Hempstead police responded to a ShotSpotter activation shortly after 1 a.m. near Laurel and Linden avenues.
The teen was found dead at the intersection.
His identity has not yet been released.
Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
As News 12 has reported, two other young men have been shot on Laurel Avenue in Hempstead this year.
Back in May, a 19-year-old was shot in the leg and injured on Laurel Avenue by Elm Avenue.
In July, a 23-year-old man was found fatally shot on the sidewalk. Two suspects were later charged in that case.
