Fourteen people were arrested at an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Port Jefferson Station.
A total of 716 vehicles passed through the checkpoint at the corner of Route 112 and Hallock Avenue between 11 p.m. and 3 a.m.
Five people were charged with driving while intoxicated and a Centereach man was accused of driving while high on drugs.
The checkpoint was part of a statewide crackdown throughout the Fourth of July weekend on impaired and distracted driving.
