Fifty-nine thousand people are part of a group called Survivor Corps.
It's an online community connecting COVID-19 survivors with researchers and blood banks collecting plasma.
It all started with one Long Islander's vision to help find a cure for COVID-19. For her efforts, Diana Berrent is this month's 12 Making a Difference.
Berrent was one of the first people in her area of Nassau County to come down with COVID-19. She started Survivor Corps. as a way of mobilizing survivor volunteers to support every scientific, medical and academic effort to unlock the mysteries of the virus.
