Some Long Island nonprofit organizations got some needed financial assistance Tuesday at the 11th annual Imagine Awards.
News 12's Doug Geed was the emcee of the event in Woodbury.
Three-hundred nonprofits entered, 24 finalists were chosen and six of them received awards.
The contest finalists all got money to produce their videos, which they can keep and use for promotion purposes.
"Also, by bringing a lot of nonprofits into a room, you get a sharing of ideas and community involvement," says Ken Cerini, of the Long Island Imagine Awards. "This is a night to celebrate the nonprofit sector."
The Imagine Awards have raised over $500,000 for dozens of Long Island nonprofits throughout the year.
