A 104-year-old woman was greeted with cheers as she was released from the quarantine unit at Apex Rehab in South Huntington.
Lilian Menendez was diagnosed with COVID-19 last month after coming down with a fever and cough.
"She's glad to be coming back to her old room," says nurse Sally Meade. "She's glad to be getting out of quarantine."
Thankfully, she had a relatively mild case and only had to be in isolation for two weeks.
Apex officials tell News 12 that 10 other residents at the facility have battled COVID-19 and have recovered.
