Police tell News 12 a fire ripped through a home in Searingtown just after 12:30 a.m.

Officials say the fire started in an air conditioning unit installed in the wall on the second floor.

Eight people were evacuated out of the home and no one was hurt.

News 12 has been told it took seven departments and about 100 firefighters to get everything under control.  Officials say the cause of the fire is electrical and not suspicio
