1 killed, 1 injured when Porsche hits pole in East Hampton

Police say a driver was killed and his passenger was injured when the Porsche they were riding in veered off the road and collided with a pole in East Hampton Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened at Three Mile Harbor/Hog Creek Road near Gardiner Lane around 3:30 p.m.
The driver, identified as 54-year-old Edward H. Reich, of Nyack, had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was taken to Southampton Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
His passenger, identified as 54-year-old Robert Kostro, of East Hampton, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital. Kostro is listed in serious but stable condition.
The Porsche was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information on the crash to call East Hampton police at 631-537-7575.
