Icy roadways lead to fatal crashes on Long Island.

A person was killed early this morning in a car crash along the Southern State Parkway.
State police say 35-year-old Deodat J. Ramotar crashed his Hyundai Sonata into a tree around 4:01 a.m. near Exit 13 in North Valley Stream. Investigators say he was speeding and intoxicated at the time of the accident.
Two of the three passengers in the vehicle were injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. A passenger in the rear seat was pronounced dead at the scene.
Nassau police say another crash in Massapequa killed a 20-year-old male who lost control and struck a tree. It happened around 3:09 a.m. near Cedar Shore Drive. The driver, who was the sole occupant and not identified by police, was pronounced dead from his injuries at a hospital.
Suffolk police say there have been around 200 crashes in their jurisdiction since midnight.
