Police say one man was killed in a stabbing inside an IHOP in Canarsie. Sources say he was an employee at the restaurant.

Police say they responded to the restaurant on Flatlands Avenue just before 10:40 p.m. Friday for a report of an assault inside.

Officers found a 67-year-old man who was stabbed in the torso and a 41-year-old man who was slashed in the hand.

The 67-year-old man, identified as Hector Reinoso-Perez, was taken to the hospital where he later died. The other man was not hospitalized.

News 12 spoke with customers like Cindi Clark who found the IHOP closed on Saturday.

“It’s a little scary because I thought this was a safe place to come and eat," said Clark.

Sources close to the investigation say they have someone in custody.
