A fire tore through a two-story home in Massapequa early this morning, killing one person.

News 12 was told the fire broke out at the house on Camp Road around 6:15 a.m.

Neighbors say the house is a group home.

All residents escaped the fire. One resident was rescued by crews from the second floor and taken to the hospital where he later died.

Fire officials say Salvatore Strano, 54, died from injuries sustained in the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
