Authorities say a woman was killed and her husband was injured when flames ripped through an Amityville home Saturday morning.

The fire broke out around 9:15 a.m. at a home on Locust Drive, just off of Broadway. Crews from four fire departments battled the flames.

Police say a woman who lived in the home was pronounced dead at the scene. She has been identified as Rufina Sarkar, 43.

Sarkar's husband, 47-year-old Gopal Sarkar, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center with minor injuries.  

Investigators say the cause of the fire appears to be non-criminal at this time.
